About TherapTea

TherapTea uses Sri Lankan tea culture as a gentle digital tool for emotional pause, reflection, and belonging in an overstimulated modern world.

Instead of tea as product, we see tea as ritual — an emotional tool and a cultural medium that has always been about far more than the cup.

The process

How it works

Three steps. One cup. A few minutes that are yours.

Pick your mood

Choose from eight moods — stressed, anxious, tired, sad, happy, focused, relaxed, or energized. No account, no quiz, no algorithm. Just honest.

Get your tea

TherapTea matches you to one real Ceylon tea from a specific Sri Lankan growing region — with a reason for every part of the match.

Follow the ritual

Each recommendation comes with a named ritual — three small steps to follow while the tea steeps — and a music pairing to sit with.

Eight distinct characters.

Every tea on TherapTea is tied to a real Sri Lankan growing region. Each one has its own climate, elevation, and flavour — and its own emotional match.

Tea as ritual. Not product.

“Nothing like a doctor would say — but a friend would share.”

TherapTea started from a single question: can a digital platform offer comfort without becoming clinical or commercial? The answer it explores is yes — if it is grounded in something real. Sri Lankan tea culture has always carried emotional weight. A cup of Ceylon tea is not just a beverage. It is a pause. A gesture. A small act of care.

TherapTea reconnects the act of drinking tea with the people, the geography, and the stories behind Ceylon. Not to sell you something. Not to track you. Just to give you a moment that is worth having.

This is a university project — an exploration of whether content, design, and cultural grounding can carry emotional meaning. No accounts. No data. No wellness jargon. Just the right brew, at the right moment.
