Who we are
TherapTea (theraptea.life) is a student project created for an MA Web Design & Content Planning module. It is not a commercial product or service. The site is operated by Jathu Mathews and is hosted on Clook shared hosting in the United Kingdom.
For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the data controller is the student author of this project.
What personal data we collect
TherapTea uses Google Analytics to analyze traffic and understand visitor interactions. Google Analytics sets cookies and logs IP addresses to compile reports on website usage. Other than this analytics service, the site is stateless: we have no logins, no user accounts, and no forms. Your mood choice is processed locally in your browser.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set any tracking cookies of its own. However, when you respond to the cookie notice, your preference (accepted or rejected) is saved to your browser's localStorage. This is stored only in your own browser and is never transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Third-party services: Google Fonts
TherapTea uses Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) to load the League Spartan and Libre Baskerville typefaces. When your browser loads the page, it makes a direct request to Google's servers to download these fonts. Google may log this request, which may include your IP address and browser user agent.
This is outside TherapTea's control. For full information on how Google processes this data, please see the Google Privacy Policy .
Server logs
Like all websites, TherapTea's hosting provider (Clook) may maintain standard server access logs. These may include IP addresses, request timestamps, and browser information. These logs are retained and managed by Clook in accordance with their own privacy policy and are used only for security and operational purposes.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Even though we collect no personal data, UK law gives you the following rights regarding any personal data that might be processed:
- Right of access — to obtain a copy of any personal data held about you
- Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate personal data
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your personal data
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to processing
As this site holds no personal data, exercising these rights would not result in any actionable data. If you have concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) .
Changes to this policy
If this site is updated in a way that changes how data is processed, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
